Miguel Ángel Millán, Guardian of Tenerife Wines 2026

The conference introduced the new role of “Guardian of Tenerife’s Wines,” an annual ambassador tasked with safeguarding and promoting the island’s wine identity beyond its borders. This position, which will always be held by someone from outside Tenerife, is dedicated to promoting local wines for one year at events and through specialized wine lists. The jury evaluated candidates based on their knowledge of the region, professional background, communication skills, and commitment to the territory and its culture. The guardian was defined as an influencer capable of creating pairings, wine lists, and narratives that raise the profile of these unique wines.

In this context, the unanimous selection of Miguel Ángel Millán as the Guardian of Tenerife Wines for 2026 was announced. Millán expressed his gratitude for the recognition and pledged to serve as an ambassador for the island’s winemakers, highlighting the extraordinary present and the “absolutely brilliant” future of Tenerife wine.
