From June 21 to 23, Tenerife will host the Island Wine Summit 2026, the world’s largest wine conference for island regions

From June 21 to 23, Tenerife will bring together some of the most influential voices in the global wine industry for three days. With a program focused on the identity of wines produced on islands around the world, the Island Wines Summit 2026 offers a journey through some of the most unique wine regions on the planet, transforming Tenerife into the international epicenter of the conversation on island wines. This international conference is organized by Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España and Vocento Gastronomía, with the Cabildo de Tenerife, Turismo de Tenerife, and its brand Tenerife Despierta Emociones serving as institutional sponsors, as well as Vinos de Tenerife as a partner.
Volcanoes, the ocean, and insularity are the central themes of a conference that combines presentations, master tastings, terroir analysis, and high-level professional meetings. Three days designed for winemakers interested in techniques, sustainability, and marketing, as well as for sommeliers and professionals focused on the gastronomic and sensory experience of wine.
The Island Wine Summit is also a tribute to the unique character of island wines and a strategic platform to position Tenerife as one of the major international leaders in contemporary wine.
Confirmed speakers include international figures such as Jamie Goode, one of the most influential voices in specialized wine journalism; Pascaline Lepeltier, a global leader in sommelier culture and biodynamics; and Fernando Mora MW, one of Spain’s most internationally recognized Masters of Wine.
All of them will share their insights and expertise on the challenges and opportunities facing wines produced in island regions, where factors such as volcanic origin, altitude, salinity, and native grape varieties create unique and irreplaceable profiles.
The holding of this conference also consolidates Tenerife’s growing international standing as a leading food and wine destination. Its pre-phylloxera grape varieties, its five designations of origin, and the character of its volcanic wines have in recent years sparked the interest of some of the world’s leading influencers and restaurants.
The Tenerife Island Wines Summit aims to become the premier international event dedicated to island wines and a space for exchange, knowledge, and global visibility for producers and industry professionals.
Last November, Tenerife hosted a conference that served as a prelude and declaration of intent for what will be the Tenerife Island Wine Summit 2026. Held at the Iberostar Heritage Grand Mencey Hotel, that gathering served as a first glimpse into the spirit that will define this inaugural edition of the summit. The event highlighted the growing global interest in island wines and served as a preview of a project that will take a decisive step forward in 2026 with the celebration of the first official edition of the Island Wine Summit.
