Roberto Santana

Alongside Laura Ramos, Alfonso Torrente and José Ángel Martínez, Roberto Santana from the Canary Islands is the fourth winemaker on the Envínate project, which produces wines in Tenerife, Galicia, Extremadura and Murcia.

The four of them are directly involved in the winemaking process and vineyard work, and through this project, they champion fresh, Atlantic-style wines that showcase the terroir and local grape varieties, working with unique vineyards and winemaking methods adapted to the characteristics of each vintage.

From Tenerife, Santana has been a key figure in the restoration and promotion of the island’s historic vineyards, particularly in areas such as Taganana and the Orotava Valley. His philosophy is based on respectful viticulture, minimal intervention in the winery, and the pursuit of wines that faithfully express the character of the volcanic soils and the native Canarian grape varieties.
