Aimilios Andrei

Aimilios Andrei was born on 1994 in the town of Chania, Crete. After high school he started studying dentistry for two years when he stopped his studies to start exploring wine. He got his WSET Diploma at the age of 24 and soon started working in the wine industry. While on the WSET program he worked as a sommelier for three years and soon after he wanted to discover more regarding winemaking. For the 2018 harvest he worked with Domaine Dalamara and then for 3 years with Apostolos Thymiopoulos, both in the region of Naoussa, Greece.  In 2022 he worked with Daniel Landi and Fernando García of Comando G winery in Sierra de Gredos. 

During these years Aimilios really believed in the potential of  the mountainous part of western Crete and the unique landscapes and microclimates of the foothills of the White mountains of Chania. After some years of research he managed to take over several ungrafted vineyards of the variety of Kotsifali and a few of the local clone of small berried Muscat called Muscat of Spina. So in 2022 together with his friend and winemaker Dimitris Skouras he started his own project named Aôri Wines. Aori translates as the mountain in the Cretan dialect and that's where this project is solely based on.
